Just in front of Venice is a place of enchanting natural interest: the Cavallino Treporti tourist park. A little piece of paradise with an empty beach, a pristine lagoon, a fort and a First World War military barracks.

The Punta Sabbioni beach

From Punta Sabbioni to Cavallino, the beach is fifteen kilometres long, with crystal clear water and fine sand, perfect for swimming and long walks.

You can marvel at the dunes, enjoy the shade of the pine forest, or have fun with your dog: yes, because Punta Sabbioni beach is also dog-friendly.

The Laguna

Surrounded by unspoilt nature, the lagoon is home to hundreds of different birds and is perfect for birdwatchers. A wonderful opportunity to be outdoors, relax and discover the beauty of nature in these places.

The tourist information centre, open in summer, provides information on the environment, landscapes and animals in the reserve.

For families

A holiday in Punta Sabbioni is also perfect for families.
A Green Flag winner, the beach has clean and shallow waters close to the shore, which is perfect for keeping children safe.

As well as offering a beach equipped for every type of traveller, there is a lifeguard service.

Services

Also ideal for older children, Punta Sabbioni has something for everyone. There are campsites, outdoor water and beach sports activities and events throughout the year.

The restaurants in the area choose zero-kilometre products for sustainable tourism and to enhance its culinary heritage.

The whole area is served by various farms in the Cavallino Treporti area and it is possible to visit them and buy their fresh produce.

Sports activities

One of the most fun ways to explore the coast and the nature reserve is to go on a bike ride. There are various routes that combine dirt roads and cycle paths: cycling in such an environment is a unique experience. Bikes, including electric bikes, can also be rented on site.

For those who prefer walking or running, there are one hundred kilometres of paths departing from Punta Sabbioni! You can walk for hours surrounded by colours and fragrances, between the sea and the lagoon.

For those who enjoy running and marathons, the Lagoon run and Sunset run, usually held in March and June, are a must.

At Punta Sabbioni you can also go fishing while admiring the sunset over Venice or take a canoe or kayak ride on the lagoon. This is a nice option for enjoying nature from a close-up perspective.

History

As well as natural beauty and unique encounters, the area is also rich in history and culture: the Amalfi Barracks, built during the First World War, defended Venice by targeting the infantry of the Austro-Hungarian outposts.

Nearby there is also the recently restored V. Pisani Barracks Museum, which offers exhibitions and various displays related to the history of the area.

How to get to Cavallino Treporti and Punta Sabbioni

Like many other seaside resorts on the lagoon, the areas of Punta Sabbioni and Cavallino-Treporti are also served by the ATVO transport company: taking a bus is always a good idea to avoid long and tedious searches for parking spaces, especially at the start of the new season, as well as to ensure a comfortable and quick journey.
