St. Mark’s Square, lies gently on the lagoon’s water cloak, its lights ogle and glow on the water from sunset until morning.

The porticos of the Procuratie, decorated with luminous rows that recall romantic cascading snowflakes. The calli, teeming with life and people who with their festive comings and goings enliven many shops covered with Christmas decorations.

And yet, a sarabanda of stands, stalls and banquets that make up the famous Venetian markets, present in every square of the lagoon and visited by so many people. Here you go, ladies and gentlemen, all the magic and the charm of Christmas in Venice.

Christmas in Venice: all Markets

Christmas is not Christmas without the traditional Markets. In Strada Nuova, between Campo di San Felice and Campo dei Santi Apostoli, the “Venice Christmas Fair” is being staged.

In the Venetian surroundings, in Jesolo, two events are planned: the “Jesolo Christmas Village” with its 45 wooden houses, Christmas decorations, a large Christmas tree and children’s rides, and “The Country of Chocolate” where treats and delicacies invade the town center during Christmas time.

Even Marghera dresses up for the occasion: in Market Square, Town Hall Square and Parco Catene you can find “Christmas with you” from 8 December 2017 to 6 January 2018.

Christmas in Venice: enchanted ballets

To be enthralled by the fairy-tale charm is one of the things we worship most about Christmas. For the most starry-eyed dreamers, Goldoni Theater in Venice on December 26th revives one of the most fascinating ballets ever: we’re talking about “The Nutcracker”.

Love and fantasy interweave the enchanted scenery of the St. Petersburg Ballet, creating a magical tale of sweets, snow and dancing flowers, wonders, prince charmings and fairies. Let yourself be spellbind : http://www.teatrostabileveneto.it/events/event/lo-schiaccianoci-3/

A fairy tale that we have always loved since childhood and which continues to lure us even as adults.
