Cycling and Walking Routes in Cavallino

Here are two recommended routes near Cavallino Treporti, perfect for both cyclists and hikers.

Land and Water Landscapes, Countryside and Lagoon

  • Length: 8.2 km
  • Type: Loop, by bike or on foot

This route starts from the charming Piazza Santa Maria Elisabetta in the heart of Cavallino, where the 18th-century parish church dedicated to Santa Maria Elisabetta stands. From Piazza Santa Maria Elisabetta, follow Via del Casson along the canal of the same name. Immerse yourself in a picturesque landscape with panoramic views of the lagoon opposite Falconera Island.

Continue to the mouth of the Sile River, passing by the historic Conche della Litoranea Veneta. Admire the Porta di Cavallino, built in 1632 by Flemish merchant Daniel Nijs, and proceed along Via Baracca, where you will find several sea access points. A detour via Via Faro will allow you to visit the Faro Piave Vecchia of Cavallino.

  • Collect maps and information at the IAT office in Cavallino (Via Fausta 406/A).
  • Take Via Pordelio for a detour along the lagoon bike path towards Punta Sabbioni.

Through Scenic Views and Local Delicacies

This route offers the opportunity to delight in the bright blue of the North Lagoon, thanks to the new elevated bike path along the ancient Via Pordelio. Enjoy the unique landscape provided by the panoramic Via della Marinona, suspended between countryside and lagoon. Finally, immerse yourself in the lush and picturesque Cavallino countryside, tasting local products with a pleasant stop at Azienda Agricola Valleri.

The last stretch back will be along the beautiful bike path on Via Fausta, with the option to admire some sea views, for instance from Via Radaelli. At the end of this road, before reaching the beach, you can admire the beautiful Batteria Radaelli, which also hosts an exhibition.

Throughout the route, you can spot and admire numerous batteries and telemetric towers, with a dedicated path: Via Porto di Piave delle Fortificazioni.
