Summer events in Venice: the exhibitions
From 2 June to 30 September 2018, the Van Gogh Multimedia Experience exhibition will be held. In the setting of Palazzo Giustinian, an interactive exhibition that traces the life and works of the painter thanks to immersive and extraordinary technologies will take place. A unique atmosphere made of music and colors will lead you on an interesting journey through the most significant stages of Van Gogh’s career.
From 29 September 2017 to 08 July 2018 the exhibition will be held on the painters Canova, Hayez, Cicognaraentitled “Canova, Hayez, Cicognara. The last glory of Venice “, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the Gallerie dell’Accademia. You will be able to visit 10 sections that house 130 works of the three artists. Among paintings, sculptures and much more you can admire the cultural evolution of the lagoon from 1815 to 1822.
From June 12th to June 30th 2018 you can visit the exhibition called “The world that was not there. Pre-Columbian art in the Ligabue Collection”. In the rooms of Palazzo Loredan, you can admire more than 150 worksbelonging to the Giancarlo Ligabue Foundation collection. A journey to discover the pre-Columbian populations of South America and their culture before the arrival of the European colonies.
Finally, from 16 March to 26 August 2018 at the Casa dei Tre Oci there will be a monographic exhibition by the Venetian photographer and artist Fulvio Roiter, two years after his death. During the exhibition you can admire 200 shots taken by Roiter between 1948 and 2007. The photographic journey traces the artistic stages and the private life of the artist between Venice, United States, Portugal, South America, Spain and Belgium.
Summer events in Venice: concerts
Are you a rock lover? Here is an overview of summer concerts all for you! On 9 June 2018 in the wonderful setting of the Goldoni Theater, you can watch the show of rock singer Patti Smith. The artist will perform in the context of the festival entitled Dal Vivo in collaboration with various local realities such as Teatro Stabile del Veneto and Veneto Jazz.
On July 6th 2018 another important international artist will perform in town, the guitarist of the British band Genesis: Steve Hackett.
Finally, among the most important events of the summer, on July 27th and 28th the King Crimson will be in the lagoon. The English progressive rock band will play on two dates in the beautiful setting of the Gran Teatro La Fenice. You can buy a ticket for a single evening and enjoy an exciting and unique show of its kind.

From 5 May to 1 June 2018 you can attend the show “La Traviata” by Giuseppe Verdi, while from 20 April to 5 June 2018 will be held “L’elisir d’amore” by Gaetano Donizzetti.
