Below are the details for two recommended cycling routes in the beautiful area of Punta Sabbioni, perfect for enjoying by bike.<\/p>\n
Route length:<\/em> 20 km round trip (10 km one way) Starting from the Punta Sabbioni terminal, ride along Lungomare San Felice and take in the famous Forte Treporti or “Forte Vecchio.” Pass through the historic center of Treporti, with its two distinctive bell towers, surrounded by gardens, orchards, and charming landscapes.<\/p>\n You\u2019ll come across the open spaces of the lagoon, with the islands of Burano and San Francesco del Deserto in the background, the small ancient village of Pr\u00e0 di Saccagnana, the former convent of Mesole, and a series of salt marshes and fishing valleys inhabited by noisy flocks of birds that add splashes of color as far as the eye can see.<\/p>\n Continue towards Lio Piccolo, an ancient village set in a unique environment known for its landscape, rich ecosystem, and age-old local traditions.<\/p>\n This is the oldest settlement in the area, surrounded by “fishing valleys,” lagoon areas designated for fishing since the year 1000, offering ever-changing scenery depending on the tide and season. Every few hours, the land turns into water mirrors and vice versa. It\u2019s the ideal spot for a refreshing break, where you can admire the tranquility of the place, observe rare birds, and watch the tide rise and fall.<\/p>\n The last stretch can only be completed on foot. On your way back from Lio Piccolo, you can take a left turn towards Mesole. Here, visitors are accompanied not only by the staff of the Tourist Park but also by a series of multimedia tools, including in-depth texts, photographic materials, and videos, as well as animated explanations of the historical moments and key phases of the Great War.<\/p>\n An immersive visit that you absolutely must experience firsthand.<\/p>\n Continue towards Batteria Amalfi to complete a circuit rich in history and natural beauty.<\/p>\n This historical-museum route intersects with the path known as the \u201cSunset Route,\u201d named for its particularly picturesque views at sunset, including the sight of the island of Sant\u2019Erasmo, known during the time of the Serenissima as \u201cThe Garden of Venice,\u201d which can be admired from Lungomare San Felice in the first part of the journey.<\/p>\n Along the way, the sea views alternate with a unique countryside landscape characterized by gardens, vast fields, and fruit trees.<\/p>\n From the bus station, you can walk along Lungomare Dante Alighieri and the short stretch of the breakwater to the Punta Sabbioni Lighthouse, located at the farthest point of the mouth of the Venice Lido port. From here, you can explore the wide beach and return through the pine forest until you reach the Museo Batteria Pisani and, not far away, Batteria San Marco.<\/p>\n You can return via the same route or through Via Brenta, finishing with a short stretch on Via Fausta back to the bike rental or the bus station.<\/p>\n From the bus station, walk along Lungomare San Felice and Via degli Armeni to Via Isarco. From here, cross Via Fausta, then continue on Via Brenta and Via Retrone until you reach Via Amalfi, where you can visit the exterior of Batteria Amalfi. Continue along Via Brenta and finally Via Goldoni, which brings you back to the starting point.<\/p>\n
