The Carnival of Venice is perhaps one of the oldest and most important in the world, thousands of visitors are preparing to travel to Venice to live this experience. <\/span><\/h5>\n

The Carnival of Venice: Opening of the 2020 Carnival<\/b><\/h3>\n

This year the celebrations will start on February 9th<\/strong>. As for several years now, the focal event of the celebrations will be the water procession, a contemporary reinterpretation of an ancient tradition. A parade of festively decorated boats will cross the Grand Canal<\/strong> to reach Rio Cannaregio<\/strong>. Upon arrival of the boats fritole, galani and other typical food and wine products of the Venetian Carnival<\/strong> will be offered at the banquets.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Carnival of Venice: Procession and Festa delle Marie<\/b><\/h3>\n

In antiquity, during the Festa delle Marie<\/strong> the Doge gave 12 young and humble women the jewels of the Serenissima Republic and other riches they wore during their weddings. Also this year the historical scenographic procession<\/strong> will cross the Riva degli Schiavoni<\/strong> towards San Marco, where the presentation to the public of the Marys will take place.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Carnival of Venice: Official Dinner Show<\/b><\/h3>\n

The Venice Carnival comes to life in the calli and in its historic palaces, where sumptuous private parties are held. For the occasion, the Casino headquarters, C\u00e0 Vedramin Calergi<\/strong>, becomes the location for the official event of the Venetian Carnival nights.<\/span><\/p>\n

Venice Carnival: the flight of the Angel<\/b><\/h3>\n

On February 16 Linda Pani<\/strong>, the beautiful winner of the Festa delle Marie in 2019<\/strong>, will take on the role of the Angel for the traditional flight<\/strong>. The first flight will be followed by the Donkey’s flight<\/strong> (February 23 in Mestre from 11.30), the Eagle’s flight (February 23 at 12.00 in Piazza San Marco) and the “Svolo del Leon” (February 25 from 17.00).<\/span><\/p>\n

Venice Carnival: how to reach the historic center<\/b><\/h3>\n

Perch\u00e9 il 25 aprile a Venezia si regala il bocolo? la leggenda pi\u00f9 antica<\/h3>\r\nLa leggenda del Bocolo (o del Boccolo) vanta una tradizione antichissima in quanto risale alla fine del\u00a0IX secolo<\/strong>, precisamente agli anni compresi tra l\u2019864<\/strong>\u00a0e l\u2019881<\/strong>\u00a0quando assunse la carica di\u00a0Doge di Venezia Orso I Partecipazio<\/strong>.\r\n\r\nLa figlia di questi, Maria (conosciuta anche con il nome di Vulcana in virt\u00f9 del particolare splendore dei suoi occhi) si innamor\u00f2 ricambiata di Tancredi<\/strong>, un giovane dalle umili origini che non poteva ambire a sposarla n\u00e9 a ricevere la benedizione da parte del Doge. Per cui decise di partire per la guerra, in modo da ottenere gloria e onori e una volta ritornato a Venezia poter sposare la sua amata.\r\n\r\nDurante le battaglie Tancredi si distinse per il suo coraggio e valore e le sue gesta arrivarono ben presto a Venezia, con Vulcana che aspettava ansiosa il suo ritorno. Purtroppo un giorno, durante una battaglia con i Mori di Spagna fu ferito a morte e, cadendo su un roseto il suo sangue tinse di rosso un bocciolo di rosa, che prima di morire consegn\u00f2 al suo amico Orlando, chiedendogli di consegnarlo alla sua Vulcana come pegno d\u2019amore.\r\n\r\nIl giorno successivo alla consegna di questo bocciolo, precisamente il 25 aprile, Maria fu trovata morta nel suo letto, con il bocciolo intriso del sangue del suo amato sul petto; da allora il bocciolo divenne per i veneziani il simbolo di un amore imperituro.<\/strong>\r\n

Perch\u00e9 il 25 aprile a Venezia si regala il bocolo? una storia pi\u00f9 moderna<\/h3>\r\nI veneziani, per\u00f2, hanno anche\u00a0una versione diversa della leggenda del Bocolo<\/strong>.
