Enjoying a party on the boat is exclusively for few chosen ones, but we do assure you that there are also other places where you can taste and\u00a0take advantage of \u2018cicheti\u2019 and glasses of wine for a pretty cheap price<\/strong>, while suspended above the water and floodlit by the striking fireworks.<\/p>\n

But where does the \u2018Redentore\u2019\u00a0feast<\/a>\u00a0come from? It is easily said.<\/p>\n

First of all,\u00a0this feast was born as a religious celebration<\/strong>. In 1557, the Senate of the Republic of Serenissima actually had a church built and then named after the \u2018Cristo Redentore\u2019, as a symbol to celebrate the end of the plague, which had struck one third of the whole population of Venice.<\/p>\n

The temple, designed by the architect Andrea Palladio, was completed in 1592. From that moment on, the various confraternities and the whole population started the tradition of a procession which then happened every year, walking on a temporary bridge being put together with different boats, one next to the other, \u00a0from the Grand Canal to the Giudecca Canal.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A tradition which has been going on to nowadays: it must have happened to you to walk across the bridge made of boat, while hoping not to lose your balance and fall over.<\/p>\n

During the \u2018Redentore\u2019\u00a0the canals are filled up by \u2018Gondole\u2019<\/strong>, \u2018Gondolete\u2019, \u2018Bat\u00e8le\u2019, \u2018C\u00f2fani\u2019, \u2018Mascar\u00e8te\u2019, \u2018Bragozzi\u2019, \u2018Sanpier\u00f2te\u2019, \u2018S\u00e0ndoli\u2019 (as known as \u2018Sandai\u2019)- an amazing sight for sore eyes (without forgetting about the taste, given the fact that the best typical delicacies of the lagoon are being offered throughout the whole city!).<\/p>\n

Se sei un festaiolo doc<\/a>, non puoi proprio mancare alla festa del Redentore, l\u2019appuntamento pi\u00f9 spettacolare dell\u2019estate veneziana.<\/strong> Una festa a cui siamo molto affezionati! Balli, feste fino all\u2019alba, fuochi artificiali, luci e atmosfere<\/strong> rendono questa notte dell\u2019anno davvero unica e magica. <\/span><\/p>

Godersi la festa dalla barca \u00e8 solo per pochi eletti, ma ti assicuriamo che ci sono posti dove a poco prezzo si possono gustare cichetti e vinelli sospesi sull\u2019acqua<\/strong>, illuminati a giorno dalla luce dei fuochi. <\/span><\/p>

Ma da dove ha origini il Redentore<\/a>? E\u2019 presto detto.<\/span><\/p>

Questa festa nasce, innanzitutto, come celebrazione religiosa<\/strong>. Nel 1577, <\/span>il Senato della Serenissima eresse infatti una chiesa intitolata a Cristo Redentore, per celebrare la fine della peste che aveva decimato un terzo della popolazione veneziana.<\/span><\/p>

Il tempio, opera di Andrea Palladio, fu terminato nel 1592. Da quel momento, le varie confraternite e il popolo vi andavano in processione ogni anno, attraversando un lungo ponte di barche provvisorio tra le rive del canal della Giudecca. <\/span><\/p>

Una tradizione che continua anche oggi<\/strong>: ti sar\u00e0 capitato di attraversare il ponte di barche sulla Giudecca<\/strong>, sperando magari di non perdere l\u2019equilibrio!<\/span><\/p>

Durante il redentore i canali si popolano di Gondole, Gondolete, Bat\u00e8le, C\u00f2fani, Mascar\u00e8te, Bragozzi, Sanpier\u00f2te, S\u00e0ndoli (dette Sandai), un vero spettacolo per gli occhi<\/strong> (ma anche per il palato, dato che servono la migliore gastronomia della laguna!).<\/span><\/p>
