Following a really friendly girl, born and raised in Burano, I went around the small alleys of this island together with other curious visitors and, as usual, I could not restrain myself from\u00a0trying some local food and good wine.<\/b><\/p>\n
I know what you are thinking of: no, I do not just eat\u00a0![\"?\"](\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/11.2.0\/svg\/1f642.svg\")
\u00a0but\u00a0I can\u2019t push myself back from some yummy food!\u00a0<\/b>Just after my stomach had been stuffed, it was about the time to feed my mind too. Inside an atelier for lacemaking I could enjoy\u00a0the art of the famous Burano lace<\/b>, its birth and techniques.<\/p>\nBurano and its famous lace<\/h3>\n
At the beginning, the lace\u2019s production wan not implying the use of any toil: it was actually applied the so called\u00a0\u201cpunto in aria\u201d<\/b>\u00a0with which every kind of decorations was created,\u00a0such as coils, animals and geometrical designs<\/b>. It was only about a century later that the\u00a0\u201cpunto a rosette\u201d<\/b>\u00a0technique was introduced, with its characteristic\u00a0small flowers and big coils.<\/b>\u00a0And soon enough the Burano lace became famous all around the world, to the point that a lot of women from the island started to be required to\u00a0move to France to produce the typical lace<\/b>\u00a0for French aristocracy and monarchs.<\/p>\n
But Burano lace was exceptional: its\u00a0beauty and elegance<\/b>\u00a0could never be compared with any other\u2019s. A real and proper school was born: the\u00a0Scuola Merletti,<\/b>\u00a0where an art current started to develop, producing the most famous creations which are now exhibited at\u00a0Museo del Merletto di Burano,<\/b>\u00a0situated inside an elegant building right in the central square of the island.<\/p>\n
There is a famous legend\u00a0<\/b>saying that this ancient lace craftsmanship would come from some fisher\u2019s exploits to marry a local young girl. This charming story follows with sirens giving the fisher a\u00a0gorgeous wedding veil as a present<\/b>; but the women in Burano, envying the beauty of the veil, began to weave a more beautiful one. This is how the legend explains\u00a0the birth of the lace\u2019s traditional craftsmanship.<\/b><\/p>\n

In un atelier di merletti ho ammirato dal vivo <\/span>come nasce e viene lavorato il famoso Merletto di Burano.<\/b><\/p> Inizialmente, la lavorazione del merletto non presupponeva l'uso della tela: veniva infatti utilizzato il cosiddetto <\/span>\"punto in aria\"<\/b> con il quale venivano realizzate decorazioni di ogni genere, come per esempio <\/span>volute, animali e disegni geometrici.<\/b> Circa un secolo dopo si afferm\u00f2 invece la tecnica del <\/span>\"punto a rosette\",<\/b> caratterizzato da piccoli fiori ed ampie volute. Ben presto il Merletto di Burano divent\u00f2 famoso in tutto il mondo, al punto che molte donne dell'isola vennero <\/span>chiamate a lavorare il pizzo in Francia<\/b> presso le corti di nobili e sovrani.<\/span><\/p>
Burano: borgo dai mille colori<\/b>, casette dalle tinte vivaci allineate l\u2019una vicina all\u2019altra che sembrano essere state dipinte dalla mano di un pittore. Perch\u00e8 ve ne sto parlando? Perch\u00e8 ho scoperto che Burano oltre che essere incredibilmente bella e variopinta, \u00e8 anche <\/span>ricca di tradizioni, leggende e curiosit\u00e0. <\/b>Tutte cose che ho scoperto gettandomi a capofitto in un <\/span>tour culturale<\/u><\/b><\/a> a contatto con le bellezze della cittadina veneziana.<\/span><\/p>Burano e il Merletto<\/strong><\/h3>
