Immagine a 2000-year-old treasure<\/strong>\u00a0discovered on the bottom of the Indian Ocean.\u00a0A rich loot of a collectionist and freed slave from Antioch<\/strong>\u00a0who lived between the second half of the First and the beginning of the Second Century A.D.,\u00a0Cif Amotan II.<\/strong>\u00a0An extraordinary treasure, which the freed slave destined to the temple\u00a0dedicated to the Sun God<\/strong>\u00a0which he had erected in his honour.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s impossible not to believe these splendors have never existed and that the ship which transported them,\u00a0the Apistos<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cincredible\u201d in Greek), has not delivered them to the sea bottom of the Ocean centuries and centuries ago.<\/p>\n

Treasures from the Wreck of Unbelievable<\/strong>\u00a0is the new masterpiece exhibition of one of the most acclaimed contemporary artists: I\u2019m talking about\u00a0Damien Hirst<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0already author of installations, sculptures, paintings and drawings that explore the relationship between art, beauty, religion, science, life and death.<\/p>\n

Treasures from the Wreck of Unbelievable: what to see<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Until December 3<\/strong>, the exposition spaces of\u00a0Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana<\/strong>\u00a0will host an exhibition of works distributed in\u00a05000 square meters<\/strong>. A complex and ambitious project, which has required numerous years for its realization. \u00a0<\/p>\n

If you decide to let yourself be fascinated by the sparkling marine treasures of Cif Amotan, you\u2019ll find unique installations awaiting you, such as\u00a0bronze, crystal and Carrara marble sculptures<\/strong>, adorned by Hirst with\u00a0corals and sea creatures<\/strong>\u00a0to give an impression they have been forgotten at the bottom of the sea for thousands of years. Moreover, ethereal photos and footage of the treasure\u2019s \u00a0discovery demonstrate its veracity.<\/p>\n

There are also\u00a0references to the genius of Walt Disney,<\/strong>\u00a0with a collection of sculptures which they have as subjects Mickey Mouse, or \u201cThe Jungle Book\u201d. An exhibition that will also appeal to children!<\/p>\n

To crown the entire thing is the context:<\/strong>\u00a0glimpses on the canals offered by the glass walls of Punta della Dogana frame the entire exhibition, where the mythological story of the Apistos blends with\u00a0the glorious past of the former maritime republic of Venice.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Treasures from the Wreck of Unbelievable: useful info<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The exhibition begins in Punta delle Dogana (Dorsoduro 2) and continues in Palazzo Grassi (Campo San Samuele 3231). It end December 3 and is open every day, except Tuesday, from 10 to 19.\u00a0Full ticket costs 18 Euros.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Durante un viaggio a Venezia avevo sentito parlare del <\/span>rem\u00e8r,<\/b> un mestiere particolare che richiede una certa manualit\u00e0 e un talento non indifferente. <\/span>Sai quali sono i suoi compiti? <\/b>Se la risposta \u00e8 no, siamo in due. Nemmeno io ne avevo idea prima di imbarcarmi in un tour<\/u><\/a> per <\/span>scoprire pi\u00f9 da vicino quest\u2019arte curiosa<\/b> rimasta inalterata nei secoli.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Un vero rem\u00e8r<\/b> mi ha spiegato la storia del suo lavoro, le sue particolarit\u00e0 artistiche e tecniche, inoltre ho esplorato insieme a lui il <\/span>mondo del vero artigianato veneziano<\/b> dalle origini fino ad oggi. Va bene, \u00e8 arrivato <\/span>il momento di toglierti ogni curiosit\u00e0.<\/b><\/p>

Il mestiere del rem\u00e8r<\/h3>

Il rem\u00e8r \u00e8 <\/span>uno dei pochi artigiani<\/b> rimasti a Venezia. Al pari dello squerarolo, d\u00e0 forma ai <\/span>remi e alle forcole delle barche<\/b>, modellando il legno come fosse una scultura. Era la prima volta che lo sentivo, per cui ho chiesto di persona al rem\u00e8r in cosa consiste il suo lavoro, e lui con piacere mi ha tolto ogni dubbio.<\/span><\/p>

Come si costruiscono i remi e le forcole<\/h3>

A prima vista, i remi di una gondola sembrano essere molto semplici di costruire. In realt\u00e0, i rem\u00e8r quando si trovano a doverli realizzare devono fare <\/span>moltissima attenzione a tutti i dettagli.<\/b> La scelta del legno \u00e8 fondamentale; una volta era il faggio, ora l\u2019importante \u00e8 non trascurare <\/span>la qualit\u00e0<\/b>. Per costruire un remo serve parecchio, <\/span>dalle 5 fino alle 10 ore.<\/b> La lavorazione del legno parte da tavole con uno spessore di <\/span>54 millimetri circa.<\/b><\/p>

Quanto dura invece la lavorazione delle forcole? E\u2019 molto lunga: dopo aver sgrezzato la sagoma, bisogna lasciarla <\/span>stagionare per circa 24 mesi<\/b>. L\u2019importante \u00e8 che ogni remo sia <\/span>a misura di gondoliere<\/b>, per permettergli di vogare con agilit\u00e0 anche nei canali pi\u00f9 stretti e difficili.<\/span><\/p>

Un difficile mestiere<\/h3>

Per realizzare forcole e remi \u00e8 necessario essere dei professionisti: solo dall\u2019unione tra <\/span>esperienza \u00a0e tecnica<\/b> nascono pezzi perfetti, che il rem\u00e8r intaglia nel legno secondo una tradizione immutata da secoli. <\/span><\/p>

Sempre pi\u00f9 giovani<\/b> entrano nelle botteghe per conoscere pi\u00f9 da vicino il mestiere del rem\u00e8r e si appassionano a questa professione che assomiglia molto pi\u00f9 ad una disciplina artistica.
