Venice is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in the world, a pearl that everyone envies us, as evidenced by the constant influx of tourists you can find at any time of the year.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The history of Venice has very ancient roots<\/b>, which seem to date back to the barbarian invasions of the fifth century that pushed the inhabitants of the mainland to seek refuge in the lagoons. The Serenissima later became\u00a0one of the major maritime powers of the Mediterranean<\/b>, exerting its influence also in the field of art and architecture. Due to its history, Venice owes its immense artistic and architectural heritage which is admired today by the whole world. A story that hides a treasure trove of secrets. Let\u2019s find out all of them!<\/p>\n

Treasures of Venice: the unmissable and less known stops<\/h3>\n

Everyone knows the unmissable stops of any tour in the city of the Doges:\u00a0St Mark\u2019s Square<\/b>, the only one in the city with its bell tower overlooking the lagoon offering a breathtaking view; the Bridge of Sighs and the ancient Prisons;\u00a0the Rialto Bridge<\/b>, a symbolic monument of the Serenissima;\u00a0Doge\u2019s Palace<\/b>, ancient residence of the doge that today houses the Civic Museum; Grand Canal. In short, there are so many amazing monuments in the city, but few know\u00a0its authentic treasures and most secret corners<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Treasures of Venice: the Ghetto<\/h3>\n

Many stop before they get there, losing themselves in the most famous itineraries: we\u2019re talking about\u00a0the Venetian Ghetto<\/b>. It\u2019s a district in which, since the early sixteenth century,\u00a0the population of Jewish origin was concentrated<\/b>. Technically, therefore, it\u2019s the first ghetto in the world and takes its name from the term\u00a0\u2018getto\u2019<\/b>(meaning \u2018to throw\u2019), since the foundries of the city were located in that area.<\/p>\n

The Ghetto appears as an island that can only be accessed by two bridges which, in ancient times, were\u00a0blocked by two gates<\/b>\u00a0that were closed and guarded at night. From here the inhabitants could go out only during the day and were also marked by\u00a0strange symbols<\/b>. In the Ghetto many synagogues arose, only two of which are open nowadays and can be visited with guided tours.<\/p>\n

Treasures of Venice: Ca\u2019 Dario<\/h3>\n

Another must-see not known by all is the\u00a0Ca\u2019 Dario<\/b>, a palace located on the Grand Canal and built by Giovanni Dario in 1479. It is distinguished by\u00a0the asymmetric fa\u00e7ade about 10 meters wide<\/b>\u00a0and completely decorated in marble, as well as the interiors. At the beginning of the 20th century\u00a0Monet made it the protagonist of one of his series of paintings<\/b>\u00a0at different times of the day.<\/p>\n

The palace earned the fame of \u201ccursed palace\u201d because of the tragic ends that have united all its owners, who died suicides, by illness or in mysterious circumstances, the last of these was\u00a0the bassist of the Who<\/b>, who died of a heart attack after having stayed there for a week. Currently the owner is unknown and the building is undergoing renovation.<\/p>\n

Treasures of Venice: home of Marco Polo and the Marciana Library<\/h3>\n

Near the church of San Giovanni Crisostomo is the\u00a0Corte del Milion<\/b>\u00a0which seems to have been\u00a0the home ofMarco Polo<\/a><\/b>. The house you see today is not the original one but on its facade we find a commemorative plaque.<\/p>\n

If you love books you can\u2019t miss the stop at the\u00a0Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana<\/b>, where you can browse the pages of\u00a0the first novel ever published<\/b>: the Hypnerotomatochia Poliphili by Francesco Colonna dating back to 1499, or find the first pocket book. The Library houses around one million volumes and over\u00a0eighteen thousand manuscripts<\/b>. The first group of books in the library was the personal collection of Francesco Petrarca donated in 1362.<\/p>\n

Treasures of Venice: the Archaeological Museum<\/h3>\n

The heart of the city also houses\u00a0an important archaeological museum little known even to the Venetians themselves<\/b>, which is located between the Marciana Library and the Napoleonic Wing and holds many finds from the Greek and Roman times, including the statue of Marco Agrippa who was originally located on the Pantheon in Rome.<\/p>\n

La Serenissima divenne in seguito una delle maggiori potenze marinare del Mediterraneo<\/strong> esercitando la sua influenza anche nel campo dell\u2019arte e dell\u2019architettura. Proprio alla sua storia Venezia deve il suo immenso patrimonio artistico ed architettonico che viene oggi ammirato da tutto il mondo. Una storia che nasconde uno scrigno infinito di tesori. Tesori di Venezia: le tappe imperdibili e le meno conosciute<\/h3>

Tutti conoscono le tappe imperdibili di qualsiasi tour nella citt\u00e0 dei dogi: Piazza San Marco<\/strong>, l\u2019unica della citt\u00e0 con il suo campanile che domina la laguna offrendo un panorama mozzafiato; il Ponte dei Sospiri e le antiche Prigioni; il Ponte Rialto<\/strong>, monumento simbolo della Serenissima; Palazzo Ducale<\/strong>, antica sede del doge che oggi ospita il Museo Civico; Canal Grande. Sono tanti insomma i monumenti imperdibili della citt\u00e0, ma in pochi conoscono i suoi autentici tesori e anfratti pi\u00f9 segreti.<\/strong><\/p><\/div>

Tesori di Venezia: il Ghetto<\/h3>

Molti si fermano prima di arrivarci, perdendosi negli itinerari pi\u00f9 noti: parliamo del\u00a0Ghetto di Venezia<\/strong>. Si tratta di un quartiere nel quale, fin dai primi del Cinquecento, venne concentrata la popolazione di origine ebraica.<\/strong> Tecnicamente quindi si tratta del primo ghetto al mondo e prende il nome dal termine getto<\/strong>, poich\u00e9 proprio in quella zona si trovavano le fonderie della citt\u00e0.<\/p>

Il Ghetto appare come un isola alla quale si accede esclusivamente da due ponti che, anticamente, erano bloccati da due cancelli <\/strong>che venivano chiusi e sorvegliati la notte. Da qui gli abitanti potevano uscire solo di giorno e venivano inoltre contrassegnati da strani simboli<\/strong>.\u00a0Nel Ghetto sorsero moltissime sinagoghe, di cui solo due oggi funzionanti e visitabili con tour guidati.<\/p><\/div>

Tesori di Venezia: Ca\u2019 Dario<\/h3>

Altra tappa non da tutti conosciuta \u00e8 costituita dal Ca\u2019 Dario<\/strong>, un palazzo posto sul Canal Grande e fatto edificare da Giovanni Dario nel 1479. Si distingue per la facciata asimmetrica larga circa 10 metri<\/strong> e completamente decorata in marmo, cos\u00ec come gli interni. Agli inizi del \u2018900 Monet ne fece il protagonista di una sua serie di dipinti<\/strong> in differenti ore del giorno.<\/p>

Il palazzo si guadagn\u00f2 la fama di\u00a0\"palazzo maledetto\"<\/strong> a causa delle fini tragiche che hanno accomunato tutti i suoi proprietari, morti suicidi, per malattia o in circostanze misteriose, l\u2019ultimo di questi fu il bassista degli Who<\/strong>, morto di infarto dopo avervi soggiornato per una settimana. Attualmente il proprietario \u00e8 ignoto ed il palazzo \u00e8 in fase di ristrutturazione.<\/p><\/div>

Tesori di Venezia: casa di Marco Polo e la Biblioteca Marciana<\/h3>

Vicino alla chiesa di San Giovanni Crisostomo si trova la Corte del Milion<\/strong> che sembra fu dimora di Marco Polo<\/strong>. La casa che si vede oggi non \u00e8 quella originale ma sulla sua facciata troviamo una targa commemorativa.<\/p>

Se sei amante dei libri non puoi non fare tappa alla Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana<\/strong><\/u><\/a>, dove potrai sfogliare le pagine del primo romanzo mai pubblicato al mondo<\/strong>: l\u2019Hypnerotomatochia Poliphili di Francesco Colonna risalente al 1499, oppure trovare il primo libro tascabile. La Biblioteca custodisce circa un milione di volumi e oltre diciottomila manoscritti.\u00a0<\/strong>Il primo nucleo di libri della biblioteca fu costituito dalla collezione personale di Francesco Petrarca donata nel 1362.<\/p><\/div>

Tesori di Venezia: il Museo archeologico<\/h3>

Il cuore della citt\u00e0 custodisce anche un importante museo archeologico poco noto persino ai veneziani stessi<\/strong>, che si trova tra la Biblioteca Marciana e l\u2019Ala napoleonica e custodisce moltissimi reperti di epoca greca e romana, tra cui la statua di Marco Agrippa che originariamente si trovava sul Pantheon a Roma.<\/p>

Sono moltissimi i tesori nascosti custoditi da questa citt\u00e0<\/strong>....puoi affidarti a qualche guida esperta o partire alla scoperta in solitaria.
