Right behind the beautiful square of Prato della Valle in Padua, one of the biggest ones in Europe, there is a little\u00a0naturalistic<\/a>\u00a0treasure for all plants\u2019 lovers and not just for them:\u00a0the Botanical Garden.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Surrounded by\u00a0any imaginable sort of botanical species<\/strong>, we started off a tour right here, following the footsteps of one of the most famous American writers of the XIX century,\u00a0Nathaniel Hawthorne<\/strong>, who set in this same garden its best short story, \u201cRapaccini\u2019s Daughter\u201d.<\/p>\n

After reliving those pages among poisonous and carnivorous plants and brightly coloured flowers all guarded inside the garden, we found ourselves in front of one more marvellous sight: we had just entered\u00a0the Biodiversity Garden.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Designed by Strapazzon in 2014 and built next to the ancient Botanic Garden dating back to 1545, besides being a journey through plants, architecture and humanity, it represents\u00a0the most recent and innovative<\/strong>\u00a0(thanks to its brilliant technological structure)\u00a0piece of architecture in the city of Padua.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It does not only show off a remarkable design, but it is also extremely functional: a huge greenhouse containing almost\u00a01300 different species of plants<\/strong>\u00a0placed inside suitable rooms where temperature and humidity are being monitored for their own survival. It should not be of any surprise then, if it happens to jump from a tropical environment, through a barren one, to finish off into a Mediterranean climate!<\/p>\n

After our visit at the Botanical Garden we moved on to\u00a0Prato della Valle<\/strong>\u00a0where we were widely briefed about oddities and mysteries about the Isola Memmia. For example, if the Canaletta flows into a circle,\u00a0where does the water that irrigates the lawn come from<\/strong>? All you need to do is to find it out for yourself as we also did!<\/p>\n

Dietro la bellissima piazza di Prato della Valle a Padova, una delle pi\u00f9 grandi d\u2019Europa, sorge un piccolo gioiello naturalistico per amanti delle piante e non solo: parliamo dell'\u00a0<\/span>Orto Botanico di Padova.<\/b><\/p>

E\u2019 qui che circondati da<\/strong> <\/span>specie botaniche di ogni tipo<\/b>, siamo partiti per un tour sulle tracce di uno dei maggiori scrittori ottocenteschi americani, <\/span>Nathaniel Hawthorne<\/b>, che in questo giardino ambient\u00f2 il pi\u00f9 riuscito dei suoi racconti: \u201cLa vergine dei veleni\u201d.<\/span><\/p>

Dopo aver rivissuto quelle pagine tra le piante velenose, carnivore e i fiori colorati custoditi nel giardino, uno spettacolo incredibile si \u00e8 presentato ai nostri occhi: eravamo entrati nel <\/span>Giardino della Biodiversit\u00e0.<\/b><\/p>

Progettato dall\u2019architetto Strapazzon nel 2014, sorge accanto all\u2019Orto Botanico del 1545 e rappresenta, oltre che un viaggio nell'evoluzione delle piante, dell'architettura e dell'umanit\u00e0, <\/span>la pi\u00f9 recente e innovativa<\/b> opera architettonica e tecnologica <\/b>della citt\u00e0 di Padova.<\/span><\/p>

Oltre che esteticamente bello da vedere \u00e8 estremamente funzionale, un\u2019enorme serra <\/strong>che contiene quasi <\/span>1300 specie<\/b> poste in ambienti omogenei per umidit\u00e0 e temperature. Non c\u2019\u00e8 da stupirsi quindi se si passa da una sala con clima tropicale, a una con clima arido, a un\u2019altra con temperature mediterranee!<\/span><\/p>

Dopo l\u2019Orto botanico di Padova, \u00e8 stato il turno di <\/span>Parto della Valle<\/a>,<\/b> dove ci hanno spiegato curiosit\u00e0 e misteri dell\u2019Isola Memmia<\/strong>. In particolare, se la Canaletta \u00e8 tonda <\/span>da dove pu\u00f2 uscire ed entrare l\u2019acqua<\/b> che irriga poi il giardino? <\/span><\/p>
