In fact, the Brenta area has always been an elite area which hosted aristocratic families.<\/h3>\n<h3>\u00a0<\/h3>\n<h3>RIVIERA DEL BRENTA: THE HISTORY<\/h3>\n<p>In 1345 the Great Council of the Republic of Venice abolished the law that did not allow the citizens of the Serenissima to acquire property on the mainland.\u00a0As a consequence,\u00a0<strong>the Venetian families moved their affairs on the banks of the Brenta.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p>As they had the necessity to control the production more closely: villas were built, which gathered in one building the main dwelling and other buildings used for various purposes.\u00a0<strong>There were three types of villas, each with a different feature:<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>The temple-villa<\/strong>, meeting place for intellectuals and artists.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The villa-company<\/strong>, intended for those who wanted to make the most of agriculture a new form of income.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The villa-palace<\/strong>, where large parties and sumptuous banquets were held.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p>And it is in this last type of villas that aristocratic families loved to spend their holidays:\u00a0<strong>they left Venice with boats called Burchielli<\/strong>, going up the Brenta canal using the oars, and then up to Fusina. From here, the boats were transported by horses to Padua, where they would proceed to travel the Riviera del Brenta.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p>Very well decorated inside, the Burchiello also seemed to reflect the luxury and elegance of the city of Venice.\u00a0<strong>Burchiello fascinated many influential personalities, intellectuals and writers<\/strong>, who described it magnificently in their works: among them were Giacomo Casanova, Charles de Brosses, Montesquieu and Goldoni.<\/p>\n<h3>LA RIVIERA DEL BRENTA: THE VILLAS<\/h3>\n<p>The Riviera del Brenta counts a large number of beautiful and majestic historic villas, with luxurious and magnificent interiors. Let\u2019s get to know some of them!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Villa Pisani in Stra<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It was built in 1721 by the architect\u00a0<strong>Gerolamo Frigimelica<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Francesco Maria Preti,<\/strong>\u00a0for the aristocratic family Pisani from campo Santo Stefano. Inside you can find\u00a0<strong>the historical fresco by Tiepolo<\/strong>, the glory of the Pisani family, while in the other rooms there are frescoes by Giuseppe Zais, Jacopo Guarana, Francesco Simonini, Andrea Urbani, Jacopo Amigoni and Giambattista Crosato.<\/p>\n<p><strong>There are 168 rooms<\/strong>, including the one in which Napoleon stayed as a guest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Inside there is a garden of over 14 hecta<\/strong>res, whose project was repeatedly revised in the 19th and 20th centuries. To the east there are architectural and scenic works, each with its own particular history.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Villa Foscari<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Also known as La Malcontenta<\/strong>, it was designed by Andrea Palladio in 1559 in Malcontenta, near Mira, for the brothers Alvise and Nicol\u00f2 Foscari, who belonged to one of the most influential families in the Republic of Venice.<\/p>\n<p>Inside the villa coexist elements deriving from the typical Venetian building, combined with ancient architecture.\u00a0<strong>Giovanni Battista Zelotti<\/strong>\u00a0and, to a lesser extent,\u00a0<strong>Battista Franco<\/strong>, took care of the majestic interior decoration, in which mythological elements prevail.<\/p>\n<p>Legend has it that the villa is known by the nickname Malcontenta\u00a0<strong>because of one of the Foscari ladies, condemned to serve her sentence in solitude<\/strong>\u00a0because of her unseemly conduct. L\u2019area del Brenta \u00e8 sempre stata infatti una zona di \u00e9lite destinata ad ospitare le famiglie aristocratiche.<\/span><\/h5><h3>LA RIVIERA DEL BRENTA: LA STORIA<\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Nel 1345 il maggior consiglio della Repubblica di Venezia<\/strong> elimin\u00f2 la legge che non consentiva ai cittadini della Serenissima di acquistare propriet\u00e0 sulla terraferma. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Come conseguenza, <strong>gli affari delle famiglie veneziane si spostarono sulle rive del Brenta.<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tuttavia era necessario controllare la produzione pi\u00f9 da vicino: proprio per questo motivo <strong>furono edificate delle ville<\/strong>, che riunivano in un solo edificio l\u2019alloggio padronale e altri edifici usati per varie necessit\u00e0.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">C\u2019erano <strong>tre tipologie di ville<\/strong>, ognuna con una caratteristica differente:<\/span><\/p><ol><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong> La villa-tempio<\/strong>, ritrovo di intellettuali e artisti<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong> La villa-azienda<\/strong>, destinata a chi voleva sfruttare al meglio l\u2019agricoltura per usarla come una nuova forma di guadagno.<\/span><\/li><li><strong>La villa-reggia<\/strong>, in cui si tenevano grandi feste e sfarzosi banchetti.<\/li><\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ed \u00e8 proprio in quest\u2019ultima tipologia di ville che le famiglie aristocratiche amavano trascorrere le proprie vacanze: partivano da Venezia con delle <strong>imbarcazioni chiamate Burchielli<\/strong>, risalivano il canale del Brenta attraverso l\u2019uso dei remi, per poi arrivare sino a Fusina. Da qui, le imbarcazioni venivano trasportate da cavalli <strong>fino ad arrivare a Padova<\/strong>, dove avrebbero percorso la Riviera del Brenta.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Molto decorato al suo interno, anche il Burchiello sembrava in qualche modo rispecchiare il lusso e l\u2019eleganza della citt\u00e0 di Venezia.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Il Burchiello affascin\u00f2 molte personalit\u00e0 influenti,intellettuali e scrittori, che lo descrissero magnificamente nelle loro opere: tra questi vi erano <strong>Giacomo Casanova, Charles de Brosses, Montesquieu e Goldoni.<\/strong><\/span><\/p><h3>LA RIVIERA DEL BRENTA: LE VILLE<\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La riviera del Brenta annovera <strong>ville storiche bellissime e maestose<\/strong>, con interni sfarzosi e lussuosi. Conosciamone qualcuna! <\/span><\/p><p><b>- Villa Pisani Reale di Stra<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fu edificata nel 1721 dall\u2019architetto <strong>Gerolamo Frigimelica<\/strong> e <strong>Francesco Maria Preti<\/strong>, per l\u2019aristocratica famiglia dei Pisani di Santo Stefano. Al suo interno \u00e8 presente <strong>lo storico affresco del Tiepolo<\/strong>, L\u2019apoteosi della famiglia Pisani, mentre nelle altre sale vi sono affreschi dipinti da Giuseppe Zais, Jacopo Guarana, Francesco Simonini, Andrea Urbani, Jacopo Amigoni e Giambattista Crosato.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Ben 168 stanze, tra cui quella di Napoleone<\/strong> che vi soggiorn\u00f2 come ospite.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Al suo interno vi \u00e8 <strong>un parco di oltre 14 ettari<\/strong>, il cui progetto fu pi\u00f9 volte rivisto nell'Ottocento e nel Novecento.
