Compared to the gondola, it\u2019s not very large and reduced.<\/p>\n<p>The Sandolo is not really a boat, but\u00a0<strong>a \u201cfamily\u201d of boats.<\/strong>\u00a0Its use began in the 13th century and its name is attributed, according to experts in Venetian history, to the\u00a0<strong>Roman sandal<\/strong>. That\u2019s right, the well-known Roman shoe with a thick sole.<\/p>\n<h3><b>The Mascareta, curiosity and current use<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Mascareta<\/strong>, a very light boat, is widely used in the canals of Venice.\u00a0<strong>Its primary use is fishing.\u00a0<\/strong>But there is a curiosity about the Mascareta, in fact, among the Venetians it is rumored that its particular name is due to the fact that long ago\u00a0<strong>it<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>was used by prostitutes to move in the canals<\/strong>.
