Treviso Airport is in a strategic position with respect to the main motorway junctions of the northeast and from here you can easily reach all of Veneto’s main touristic or business venues, of course including the wonderful city of Venice.
Some airlines also land exclusively at this airport and not at the one closest to Venice, Marco Polo Airport.

Remember that due to its unique feature of being a city built across several islands, cars cannot be used in central Venice: land vehicles cannot go beyond Piazzale Roma, so from there you will have to continue on foot or by vaporetto.

Bus

The cheapest way to get to the centre of Venice from Antonio Canova Airport is by bus!
There are several companies that offer this type of service, the most affordable in terms of quality/price ratio is certainly ATVO.

Why?

  • Compared to the other companies, it takes you all the way to Piazzale Roma, the nerve centre of Venice. Many other buses are only allowed to go as far as the Tronchetto, which is several kilometres from Piazzale Roma and the historic center.
  • It also stops in Mestre near the main hotels.
  • There are buses every 30 minutes from the early hours of the morning until the last flights of the late evening.
  • The ATVO Bus ticket costs €12, and you can immediately decide whether to buy the return ticket, which will last one week.
  • You can also buy the ticket online.

Taxi

There are alternative means to the Bus such as Taxis, which you will find waiting for you at the passenger terminal.
Despite having the advantage of travelling on your own from Treviso Airport to Venice, it far exceeds the costs of the bus and only takes you as far as Piazzale Roma, just like the buses.

Train

There are no solutions that directly transport passengers from Treviso airport to Venice station; you have to switch between different modes of transport which can be extremely uncomfortable with suitcases and luggage.
